With the introduction of Microsoft Office 2016, compatibility between Act and different Microsoft Office versions has become more complicated.
Microsoft Office 2016 was just released and this is becoming a common issue. Microsoft in my opinion is done a poor job of describing the differences between the different versions of Microsoft Office. Some are cloud-based and some are click to run. What does that all mean? To be honest, I don’t feel qualified to answer that question. I am not a Microsoft engineer or expert on software installations and distinctions between the versions.
This is what I know
If you want Act to work properly with Microsoft Office you need to buy the installed version of Microsoft office. Here is a link to that version; it is approximately $229 and you own it forever: https://products.office.com/en-us/home-and-business
