After my tutorial yesterday about doing a manual act backup, Jon P. asked me to expound on the personal files option when doing an act backup.
Interesting enough, this is an area that I honestly didn’t know a lot about. It was one of those things that I was aware of and looked at in the past, but I could honestly say that I was not an expert when it comes to backing up act personal files. So per John’s request, I decided to learn a little bit more about it.
What are personal files in the act backup?
Personal include Internet links, spell check dictionaries and Menus and toolbars. In addition to that, if you have saved documents within act in a particular folder those items will be saved as well. I don’t want to suggest that I am nailing this answer with 100% certainty. There are still some things here that I’m not expert at and after having stated all of that, one of my upcoming tutorials is going to be how to create a complete and total copy of your act database. It is my belief that by doing that you will have in essence saved all of your personal files.
