Installing Act4Outlook (Act for Outlook)

(00:01): Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. This video is a quick first part of how to install Act for Outlook. The first thing you want to do is you want to navigate to keystroke.ca keystroke.ca, and I’ll provide that link in my tutorial. Once here. You’re gonna want to go to our apps, go to the Act four products, go over the right and down to Act for Outlook. Now you will see if you click right here on this little box, it will help you start the download process. Once you download this software, you’ll find it in your downloads folder, which can differ depending on the browser. But typically, if you go up to this area, click on the arrow, you’ll see all the things that are in your download folder. So that’s the first step. You gotta download the file. If you’ve purchased this, you’ll be provided with that down to download link by the folks at Keystroke.

(00:58): So that’s the first step. Download it and then install it on your computer by double clicking on it and running it. Once you run that software, the next step is you need to go in and configure that software. So there’s a couple things you wanna be aware of. First, you wanna make an observation up in the top left hand corner of your ACT database and observe the name of the database. So in this case, the name of this database is Act Underscore Tips. That’s the next thing you want to do. Then you want to know where your database is located, where is it on your computer? You also want to know your username and password. So again, you need to know the name of your database. You need to know where it’s located. And you need to know your username and password. If you have a password, if you’re not sure where it’s located, if you click on help and go down to where it says about act.

(01:53): What you’ll see is down here it says Database information. When you click on this and it pops up, you’re gonna wanna scroll down a little bit and you’ll be able to observe where that’s located. So if you scroll down a little bit and look for where it says Database file, location, that’s the name of it right there. And you’ll be able to observe that, no problem. So that’s how you figure that out. So again, know the name of your database, know where it’s located, and your username and password. And then once you get that done, you’ll be ready to start installing this software. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.
