Make Your Act Data Pop: Add Some Lines

Here is a simple tip to help you put lines around the information you see on computer screen when using ACT.  Adding some lines will break up the information to make the readability of what you have on your screen much easier to view.  Take some stress off your eyes and add some lines.

Hi ladies and gentlemen, this is Tony Holowitz from 365 act tips. And Tony, the teacher.com. Well, sometimes when you’re looking for contacts, you’ll do a lookup. And a lot of times that lookup can return a lot of contacts. I’m going to go up here and I’m going to go look up and I’m going to go all contacts just to return all the contacts and what I was really trying to show you is that when you do a look up, if there’s more than one contact, it will return it to you in a list. Well, I don’t know about you, but when I find myself looking from left to right, it’s just sort of hard to really decipher all this information, because there’s a lot of info information here. So what I want to suggest is this, do the following. Let’s put some lines around this information, go up to tools, go all the way down towards preferences.

And I wish they’d move preferences more to the top. I’m going to click on preferences. Then I’m going to go up to colors and fonts. The list we’re in right now is the contact list over here. It’s the contact list here it is right here. It’s already selected because it’s at the top of the list. All I’m going to do is click on show grid lines. I’m going to click apply. And all of a sudden we have some grid lines around it. Let’s take that one step further. I’m going to go up to tools. I’m going to go down to preferences. I’m going to go back to colors and fonts. And again, I’m on contact list right now, but if I click on contact list and then scroll all the way down to the bottom and then holding the shift key down, click on the last item. What it does is it selects every single item.

If I click on show grid lines and then click apply and okay, you’ll see, I still have the grid lines. It doesn’t really look like it changed. However, let me go back to the contacts and I want you to observe, uh, let me just double click on one of these. I want you to observe that if I look at my notes in histories or any of the areas down here, suddenly, you’re going to see lines through them. And trust me before I did that, there were no lines there. So it also, because I did it for every area, it put lines through everything. My name is Tony Holowitz.
