Introduction

Hi ladies and gentlemen, this is Tony Holowitz, and I want to thank you for tuning into this tutorial. Today, I’ll be talking about the web version of Act, specifically the new Ax CRM SAS version. Having some skills related to internet browsers is essential for a good experience using this Act software.

Preferred Browsers

While the software is compatible with three primary browsers – Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge – personal preferences may vary. I prefer using Microsoft Edge. However, you can use any of these as per your liking.

Maximizing Screen Real Estate

  1. Using the F11 Key: If you have a large monitor, you may see a lot of green space in the Act lead. To maximize the screen space, you can press the F11 key on your keyboard to hide the top information. Moving the cursor to the top of the page brings it back, and moving it away hides it again.

  2. Resizing the Window: You can resize the window by holding the control (CTRL) key and pressing the plus (+) or minus (-) key.

    • Control + Minus (-): Makes everything smaller.
    • Control + Zero (0): Takes you back to the original size.
    • Control + Plus (+): Makes everything bigger.

This resizing trick helps to make the window comfortable for your vision and the way you work.

Working with the Browser Version

  1. Dragging the Middle Bar: You can drag the middle bar to free up space and adjust the overlapping of information.

  2. Right-Click Functionality: Right-clicking in the browser version brings up different options compared to the desktop version. For instance:

    • Web Capture in Microsoft Edge: Allows you to draw on the screen, capture, or copy a particular area.

These subtle differences can help you figure out how to make the web version of Act work for you.

Conclusion

These few tips about working with Act in a web browser, specifically using the F11 key and control plus or minus to resize, can make a significant difference in your experience. It’s all about adapting the tool to your needs and comfort. Thank you very much for reading, and have a great day!
