When I start working with a new client I try to gauge how they use act and email. Let’s face it, the easiest way to reach a number of contacts in act is by sending them an email. Phone calls can be very effective yet they can be very time-consuming.
Act’s last email field tells you the last time you sent an email to a contact. Obviously, if the date of that last email is really old there is a good chance that contact is slipping through the cracks. When I look at an act database the last email field tells me a story about your approach to working with your contacts and act. I am never one to say that I have all the answers, but this absolutely, positively, tells me a lot about you. Well maybe not you exactly, but the way you use act.
Many of my clients don’t even recognize all the options they have for sending email. I have strong opinions about email and act. At the end of the day, you need to strike a balance between over emailing your contacts with being efficient and practical.
Most Import Field in Act
Just for the record: Act’s ID Status Field is the second most important field.
