Adding Shortcuts to the Act Menu Makes Act Easier to Navigate

This quick act tip will show you how to add things you use all the time to the toolbar in act. It is easy to do and will save you precious time. My experience has been that these are the kinds of tips that can get you to think about how to simplify act even more.  Adding a Visual Shortcut to the Menu Bar in Act is Easy.  Let me show you how in this short video

Hi, ladies and gentlemen, in this act quick tip. I want to show you how to quickly add something to the toolbar for things you do all the time. Let me give you an example of that. If I go up and click on, look up, let’s say I wanna look up the last name of someone, and this is something you would typically do quite a bit. Now this isn’t a big deal. It’s a couple clicks, but wouldn’t it be nice if we could take some of these things in the dropdown or maybe from other places and act and quickly add them to the toolbar. Let me show you how I’m gonna do that. And I want you to observe that the last name is under the lookup option and act, just keep that in mind. So what we’re gonna do is this we’re gonna right click up here on the gray part right next to the word help.

We’re gonna right click and I’m gonna click on customize by clicking on customize. I can add commands right up to the toolbar. So I’m gonna click on commands. And remember I told you, I wanted you to observe where it said, look up up here on the left hand side. That’s where the last name was. Well, if I come down here and click on, look up and then just scroll down a little bit. We’re gonna see the option that says last name. There it is right there. So I’m gonna click on it. I’m gonna hold. And I’m gonna just simply drag that right up to the toolbar up here, right next to the word, help and let go. And now I’ve placed last name on there. I’m gonna come down and click on close. And now the next time we wanna look up something, all we have to do is go up and click on last name and Wawa here comes the last name box, right up, ready to go. So these are just quick little tips that if you think of these and say, Hey, wait a minute. If I did that, maybe I can do this. There’s all kinds of things you can do with this quick little idea for working a little bit easier with act ladies and gentlemen.
